Morgan Ward takes on John Seitz Memorial
From Thursday through Saturday, Morgan Ward competed in strong WISSOTA Late Model fields as part of the 18th annual John Seitz Memorial at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
When three days of racing kicked off with the fourth annual Howie Schill Memorial on Thursday, Ward’s Lone Pine Bar and Grill No. 37JR ride was one of 60 Late Models in the pits at the quarter-mile speed plant. Ward grabbed a third-place result in her heat race and came home fourth in her B-Main. As a result, she missed a transfer into the night’s Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA)-sanctioned, $2,404-to-win feature by just two spots.
Qualifying for the John Seitz Memorial commenced the next day with 62 Late Models at the track. Ward claimed the seventh spot in her heat race, forcing her into a B-Main on Saturday.
She came home 12th in her “B,” ending her evening before the 92-lap, $9,200-to-win finale.
